The POC blog series was put together to shine a light on the unique experiences of people of color who come to Japan. While the term “person of color” has different cultural and continental connotations and may mean something different to you, the purpose of this series is to share insight to how these ALTs been able to express, preserve, and share their culture and identity while living in Japan.

While you will notice some themes running through multiple posts, each of the ALTs that are featured below have a unique perspective and experience. We hope this series might grant solace to those who are currently seeking it, provide insight for those who want to become more informed, and reassure new ALTs who will soon move to Nagasaki.

The POC series will be updated every Monday from April to June 2019.
