Hello everyone,
We hope that you are surviving the winter and that you enjoyed the snow as much as Renae did. It may have been cold but there is something magical about snow swirling around in the sky, don’t you think?
We have some important messages for you this month. Please take the time to read them and action any requests.
Working Committee
Would you like to be on the 2018/19 Working Committee? Do you want to challenge yourself, meet new people and practice teamwork? Contribute your knowledge, enthusiasm and organisational skills to the next Welcome Orientation and the Skill Development Conference. Applications are open until the end of this month so if you are interested then get on it!
EAP Drill coming in March
In order to ensure the effectiveness of the EAP that we have in place, we will be having a drill in March. If you are unsure what you need to do please review the EAP here and be sure to act swiftly when the time comes.
The Kyushu debate competition will be held in November this year and we have been asked to find at least 8 ALTs to assist with the judging. If you have re-contracted for the 2018/19 year and you are interested in attending and judging a debate then please reply to this email.
The school year is coming to a close and this means that there is the potential for big changes at your school. Yes, your school. Gear up for a month or so of parties – both goodbyes and welcome. Remember it is not compulsory to drink, or even attend but consider these a great opportunity to spend time outside work with current colleagues and forge relationships with new colleagues.
As I am sure you are already aware, Golden Week is coming in May. For the small price of two days nenkyu you could have nine days off. It is a rather expensive time to travel in Japan, or outside of Japan so if you want to make the most of this time we suggest that you get on to your plans as soon as possible.
That is all for this month! Until next month…
