Welcome Orientation 2018
All new ALTs will attend Welcome Orientation on Monday, August 27th, at the Nagasaki Kinro Fukushi Kaikan in Nagasaki City! If you haven’t already, please talk to your contracting organization about making arrangements to get to the city (including booking a hotel if your contracting organization deems it necessary). The Nagazasshi Welcome Party
The Nagazasshi Team is putting together a special event to welcome all the new ALTs on Saturday August 25th! (this event is not organized by Nagasaki Prefecture).
Everyone is welcome! Go along to meet new people or chat with old friends, have some food and a few laughs. Here’s what the Nagazasshi Team has to say:

About Nagasaki Video

Want to show off your corner of the prefecture? Here’s your chance – we’re calling for short video clips of tourist attractions, local events, and famous places in your local area. We’ll use some of them to make a video to show at Welcome Orientation.

Call for SDC Presenters

Towards the end of October, Nagasaki Prefecture will have its annual Skills Development Conference (SDC). Sempai ALTs – this is your chance to get involved and give back! We are currently looking for:

  • Long-form presentations (about 50 mins)

  • Short-form presentations (about 15 mins)

  • Activities Fair – Lesson Demonstrations (a short activity you can demonstrate in about 10 mins)

  • First year ALTs who are interested in helping out with a presentation

Giving a presentation at SDC is very rewarding and is good for professional development, and we have a great team ready to help you get started. Don’t miss out! Get in touch at nagasaki.pa@gmail.com!
